Films that leave a trace outside the official competition – BLOCKADE FILMS – 22nd November; 12th Minute
Students in Serbia have been fighting for a year now for justice, responsibility and a more just society. As part of the programme, we will screen short films “The Twelfth Minute” and “22nd November” on Friday, 28th November at 3:30PM in Art-kino.
The films were made during the blockade of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade that started in November 2024, shortly after the Novi Sad train station disaster that killed 16 people.
These films are a document of the huge student movement that united Serbia and set in motion a string of protests and actions, as well as a testimony of solidarity, resistance and strength of a joint struggle.
A Q&A will follow the screening, and students will talk about the conditions in which the films were made, the experience of collective filmmaking, citizen movements, and the importance of art as a space for resistance and dialogue.
