Films that leave a trace outside the official competition – NOT FUNNY

On Thursday 27th November at 5PM, before the official start of the festival, we invite the audience to step into a world where there are no cell-phones, everyone has their own personal clown for fun and leisure. Do these clowns have free will? Can they change their position in society? Or the position of their humans?

Short film “Not Funny” questions relationships, identities and limits of freedom in an allegorical tale that reflects our reality.
The film was made by students of the Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka, where students did everything – screenplay, filming, editing, directing, costume and set design, music and graphic design, with a little help from their mentors and professionals. This is also the final BA work of acting students.

There will be a Q&A with students after the screening, to explain the filmmaking process and the creation of this parallel world, how they combined satire and seriousness, and what experiences did this project bring to them personally.
